DALTON EPPS

Dalton Epps Has Stellar Year

As the Myrtle Beach Junior Varsity football players walked on the practice field for the first time in 2019, Dalton Epps had an incredible desire to play defense. The defensive end positions were up for grabs and Dalton Epps had his eyes on one of those slots.

It was the day before the first game of the season and the defensive end starters were still not clear for the opener against Socastee. In a highly contested game, Dalton Epps had several tackles for loss,

a batted pass, and a fumble recovery to preserve the victory over the Braves. Based on Dalton's performance, it could be a good start to a great season.

Dalton continued to put up the stats. Dalton Epps documented three quarterback sacks in the same game against three separate

opponents: Hartsville, Darlington, and North Myrtle Beach.

Dalton finished the season with 12 quarterback sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 36 total tackles, 2 batted balls, and 1 fumble recovery. Dalton received the honor of getting moved up to varsity for the playoffs in 2019. Dalton expressed, "I loved playing with my teammates, and I am so grateful for my coaches." The Seahawks finished the season undefeated for the first time in 10 years,
