VIKINGS WIN CLASH WITH RAIDERS 8-6 TO STAY UNBEATEN

 

September 16, 2015

EppsZone News:  The Raiders took a early lead when a Raider defender intercepted 

a pass by Viking QB Eqwan McCrea and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. The first half was a defensive struggle with not either team scoring an offensive touchdown. Raiders took a 6-0 lead into the half over the Viks.

 

The Vikings had the only score wuth an incredible run after the catch by Kyle Watkins for 48 yards. Viking receiver Anthony Apomte caught a pass from McCrea for the two point coversation. The Vikings took a 8-6 lead all the way to the wire to capture their third straight victory. The defense played oustanding game lead by defensive tackle Noah Chudyk who added 3 quaterback sacks. Chudyk was awarded the Defesive Game Ball. Anthony Aponte was honored with the Offensive Player of the Game.

VIKINGS BLANK COWBOYS  IN SEASON OPENER 26-0

EppsZone News:  It was QB Eqwan McCrea who sparkled in the Vikings season opener. He scored three touchdowns, all on the ground against the Cowboys. After a low scoring first half, the Vikings exploded for three 2nd half touchdowns including one from running back Noah Chudyk

Eqwan McCrea earned the Game Ball on offense for his oustanding performance.

 

Preston Baker was named the Defensive Player of the Game with his crushing hits. Preston had three tackles for a loss and broke up several passes from his linebacker position. " I was extremely happy with Preston's play on defense. He plays smart and is always on the attack." said Vikings' Defensive Coordinator, Darin Epps.

VIKINGS BLACKOUT THE RAIDERS

EppsZone News:  The rain was falling on the gridiron during this early fall night, as the Raiders and Vikings slug it out in the trenches. Both teams struggled offensively during the first half. Both teams were plaqued by penalties and turnovers, which resulted in a scoreless first half.

 

The Vikings finally get on the board early in the second half with a 62-yard scoring run by

Eqwan McCrea. Vikings added the extra point with a 2-yard run by Keltron Bessent, taking a 7-0 advantage.

 

The Viking "Stonewall" defense forced four Raider turnovers. The first came with a interception by Saftey Hayden Platt.  Zayvion Blackmon capped off the victory with an electrifying 39-yard interception return for a touchdown. "It is so much fun to coach this defense. Different players step up every game." said Defensive Coordinator, Darin Epps. Zayvion Blackmon and Hayden Platt were both rewarded game balls on defense for their exceptional play.

 

Mannti Harrison stepped up on the offensive line, playing several different positions to help the Viks secure a victory. Mannti was named Offensive Player of the Game." It was ugly, but we will take the win." said Head Coach, Donnie Platt.

VIKINGS OUTLAST PACKERS  IN SHOOTOUT 33-19

EppsZone News:  The Vikings had their best offensive output of the season racking up 33 points against the Packers. Kyle Watkins excelled in the contest running for two scores and catching another one. Kyle was awarded the game ball for Offensive MVP of the Game. Noah Chudyk added another score on the ground with a bruising TD run. Starting tailback Keltron Bessent got in the groove scoring his first TD of the season. Keltron also received a Game Ball for his outstanding play.

 

The Vikings held the explosive Packer offensive to one score in the first half led by Nick Moss. Moss 

accumulated 2 QB sacks and 5 tackles and was honored with the Defensive Player of the Game.

 

Vikings' Head Football Coach, Donnie Platt awarded Dalton Epps with a Game Ball for his consistant play at center. "Every offensive play starts with Dalton. He did a great job, snapping and blocking." said Coach Platt.

VIKINGS PACKED UP THE PACKERS  27-6

EppsZone News:  The Viking offense was clicking on all cylinders Wednesday night against the Pack. " Eqwan McCrea helped the Viks on the board first with a 10-yard scoring run to take an early 6-0 lead. Keltron Bessen added a second score with a 12-yard run for a touchdown.

 

The defense continued to shut down the explosive Packers offense in the first half. The Viks added a late first half scored when Kyle Watkins hit wide receiver, Zayvion Blackmon on a 21-yard pass for a touchdown. Vikings took a 20-0 lead into the half. Zayvion Blackmon was named the Offensive Player of the Game.

 

The Viking "Stonewall" defense forced five Packer turnovers in the contest. Viking cornerback, Anthony Aponte, started it off with an interception on the Packer's first possession.The Vikings defense forced four Packer fumbles. Kyle Watkins was honored with the Defensive Player of the Game. Watlkins had 3 tackles, two quarterback sacks, and a fumble recovery. 

 

Vikings, slot receiver, Hayden Platt, rapped up the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown toss  from Kyle Watkins. " I was very proud of how our offense executed tonight. We have a special group of kids." said, Vikings Head Coach, Donnie Platt.

VIKINGS CLOSE OUT SEASON STRONG AGAINST RAIDERS  28-0

The Vikings put a exclamation mark on the end of the regular season with a dominating performance against the rival Raiders. " Our team motto since the season began was HARD WORK. Our wins are the result of hard work." said Head Coach, Donnie Piatt.

 

The Vikings started with great opening kickoff return by Nick Moss inside the Raiders' 20-yard line. Noah Chudyk capped the drive with a 8-yard touchdown run. Vikings took an early 8-0 lead.

 

The defense continued to dominate with bone-crushing hits by Preston Baker. Baker finished the game with 6 tackles, 2 for loss, and forced two fumbles. Preston was awarded Defensive Game Ball for his sound play.

 

Vikings score on their next drive with a 32-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Watkins to Anthony Aponte. Vikings took a 15-0 lead into halftime.

 

Vikings defense was suffercating, forcing a turnover on the Raiders' first two drives of the second half. Frank Goings recovered two fumbles in the Raiders' backfield and was awarded a Defensive Game Ball.

 

Vikings scored on their next two possessions with a 12-yard TD rush by Keltron Bessent and a 10-yard touchdown run by Noah Chudyk. "The offensive line has been the backbone of our success all year. We are very hard on them and they get the least amount of credit." said Coach Piatt. The entire offensive line was rewarded Offensive Game Balls for their perfromance.

VIKINGS TOO MUCH FOR COWBOYS  41-0

The Vikings took to field at Doug Shaw Stadium on a mission - complete victory. They did

not disappoint, Preston Baker dashed 68 yards for a touchdown on the third play of the game. Kyle Watkins hit Anthony Aponte on a 42-yard toss giving the Viks an early 14-0 lead.

 

Vikings  tailback, Keltron Bessent, broke tackles to hit pay dirt on a 38-yard run. Eqwan McCrea added a 50-yard sprint for another Vikings score. Viks took a commanding 27-0 lead into halftime.

 

The Vikings' "Stonewall" defense was relentless. The Cowboys only managed two first downs all night. Noah Chudyk lead the team with 5 tackles and 2 quarterback sacks and 1 fumble recovery. Noah was honored with the Defensive Player of the Game

 

Eqwan McCrea scored his second touchdown of the game with a 29-yard gallop to the zone. Watkins threw his second touchdown of the game with a 45-yard pass to Nick Moss.

Kyle passed for over 240 yards and ran for another 40 yards, which gained him the Offensive Player of the Game.

 

The Vikings will have their perfect season on the line. They will face the Raiders Thursday at 7pm in the 2015 Championship Game.

VIKINGS DOMINATE RAIDERS CAPTURING CHAMPIONSHIP 30-0

As the fans watched at Doug Shaw Stadium, the Vikings continued to demostrate their

dominance on the gridiron. The Viks set the tone early with an interception by LB Keltron Bessent, returning the pick 43-yards for a score. Viking, Saftey Josh Thomas, added another inteception on the Raiders next possession. Thomas was named the Defensive Player of the Game. "I am so happy for Josh, he has played so hard all year." expressed Coach Epps.

 

Eqwan McCrea continued to reach pay dirt. McCrea scored on runs of 21-yards and 34-yards. Kyle Wtkins added a 24-yard touchdown run. The Vikings took a commanding 30-0 lead into halftime.

 

The Vikings' "Stonewall" defense was ruthless, causing three Raider turnovers and holding the Raiders scoreless. The Vikings defense only allowed an amazing 25 points all season.

 

Viking, Slot Receiver, Ryan Scarborough caught an important 2-point conversion strike from Kyle Watkins. "Ryan has played hard and has gotten better and better each week. We are so proud of him." said Coach Piatt. For his consistant play, Ryan was named Offensive Player of Game.

 

The Vikings are the 2015 Myrtle Beach Football Champions. The 2015 Vikings will go down

as one the most dominant teams in Myrtle Beach Football League history.
